From far-fetched stories that were more a fantasy than reality, cinema, today, is readjusting its focus. Gautham Menon, who has focused his creative energies on bringing to us action-packed blockbusters, is also the man who gave us a love story in Minnale . Next in line is his Vaaranamaayiram , with Suriya, Sameera Reddy and Divya Spandana in the lead. The story of the movie, in a single line, covers the life of a young man. The story begins from even before he is born and proceeds to that point in his life where things take on a sudden turn, and he can no more be an ordinary man. What transform the life of this young man? What next? What impact do these two women create on his life? Vaaranamaayiram is the story of a man who tries to prove that whatever Fate decides to throw at him, he has the strength of a thousand elephants to face it all.

Gautham Menon has established himself as a director of modern cinema, with his stylish shots, beautiful shooting spots and Hollywood-like plots.

His movies have all invariably struck gold at the box office starting from his romantic Minnale . Pachaikili Muthucharam was not a box-office-breaker, but the darkness of the movie and it's queasy unique-ness made it stand out in a sea of candy-floss flicks. One can safely say that his name manages to evoke quite a lot of expectation; and with each movie, he sets higher standards for himself!

With Harris Jayaraj at the helm of the movie's music, the album cannot possibly be anything less than mesmerising! So far, the combination has worked beautifully and Gautham and Harris share a creative rapport that's sure to be a success. In fact, Harris' tunes have been ruling the music scene down south, for over a decade now. From Vaseegara , right on to the tracks in Bheemaa , Harris seems to have found the right chords, and he manages to use this to his advantage each time!

Suriya has proved himself worthy of stardom with his performances and under the direction of Gautham Menon (starting from Kaaka Kaaka ), his skills open up even more. The movie was a rollicking success and it catapulted the star and his director high upon the mountain of success. So what does this duo have in store for us this time? .

Shooting for the movie is on in full swing. 50% of the movie is finished and the cast and crew have just returned to India after a long shooting schedule at San Francisco . Stills taken on location showcase the beautiful Sameera Reddy and Suriya against the beauty of San Francisco . Cinematographer Ratnavel captures a freshness and beauty not seen for a long time in the previous two dark movies of Gautham's – Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and Pachaikili Muthucharam .
