Anaida sings for Thiru 420
Anaida usually referred to
as 'Princess of Indian Pop' rose to global fame with her Pop
album "Quest" which was the first international album from
an Indian Pop singer. She was here in Chennai to sing a song
for a Tamil film Thiru 420. A brief te-e-te with
her.
How did Tamil film
Thiru 420 happen to you?
I know Avinesh one of the three heroes in this film. For this
particular song the music director Sathya and the producer
Dr.Chezhian wanted a specific voice and that Avinesh has suggested
my name. And that’s how it started.
How was it singing
for first time in Tamil?
Fabulous! I enjoyed every bit of it. The song has various
modulations of my voice and come out very well. Karthik and
Timmy sang along with me.
Was it not difficult
to sing in Tamil, the language being a barrier?
Not at all! I know what I am singing about. It was Yuga Bharathi’s
lyrics which I wrote in English. It’s a happy and jolly
mood song sung in the beach during Sun set by the heroine
and her friends. This song is going to be picturised in Ireland.
What are your future
plans?
I am producing an album “Naya” after
9 years. You will see a new Anaida – more of me in this
album. I am planning to bring out a Tamil version of ‘Naya’
also. I am also acting in a sci-fi Hollywood film, similar
to “Matrix”.
