Vinitha’s Divya Teacher was initially titled Yoga teacher. The yoga teacher indulges in teaching novices the art of Kama Sutra. It is learnt that the censors were horrified and after deletions the board asked the producers to change it to Divya Teacher since the film will give Yoga a bad name. The film’s Tamil rights have been bought for a high price and was released recently since Vinitha continues to be in news after her arrest for prostitution. Sources say that Vinitha out on bail has shifted to Trichy.

Suresh Menon- Revathi: Only friends?

Suresh Menon is producing a Hindi film and his ex-wife Revathy is getting ready to direct it. This sounds strange because both had recently announced their decision to split. Recently for the SICA awards they came together.
The film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Shilpa Shetty and one schedule have been completed at Chennai.
The closeness between the couple during the working in discussions and pre-productions stage has led to speculation that the split announcement was to keep the debtors away. The couple's explanation is that they are still friends and not enemies. They are game to any working arrangement that will bail them out of debts says the couple.

Rajnikanth and Vijaykanth met secretly?

Grapevine says that Rajnikanth and Vijaykant had met secretly in Hyderabad to discuss about the forthcoming elections. Rajnikanth is yet to decide about which political party he is going to canvass for and Vijaykant has already issued a press release that he is going to enter politics. There was no confirmation about the meeting and what transpired between them from either side.

Simbu - Dhanush war hots up

Simbu - Dhanush war has got more intense. It all started with the 182nd day celebrations of Thiruda Thirudi in Chennai. Simbu who is acting in Manmadhan of the same producer was invited for the function. When Simbu got up speak the fans of Dhanush hooted the little superstar. An enraged Simbu cut his speech and said that any film ran made him happy because it was good for the industry. Without even saying goodbye to anyone the Little Superstar walked away.

Vikram in Shankar’s Robot?

After the box office disaster of Boys Shankar is back again with yet another project, this time a commercial sci-fi film. Titled Robot this story was planned three years ago with Kamalhassan in mind. But the project got shelved due to various reasons. Now he has approached ‘success star’ Vikram with the same script. Buzz has it that Vikram was happy with the subject and Oscar Ravichandran is making the film. Also sources say that Harris Jayaraj is scoring music for the first time in Shankar’s film, since A.R.Rahman was not available for the director due to his busy international schedules. Shooting would commence in March.

The BJP bandwagon seems to be swelling by the day with stars. Sharat Babu was formally inducted into the party by BJP state president Indrasena Reddy, union minister of state Krishnam Raju and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national president Kishen Reddy.
Speaking to reporters Sharat Babu said that he joined the BJP mainly due to its leadership. He compared the BJP led NDA government's rule at the centre to the golden era of the Gupta regime. Sharat Babu's supporters also joined the party along with him.

Rajnikant house for sale?

Rajnikant has decided to sell his Poes Garden house and shift permanently to his Kelambakkam farm house. His activities in the city (Chennai) are minimal and whenever he comes to the city, he stays at Arunachala hotel owned by him or in his kalayana mandpam. His wife Latha's activities too are centered on her school in Velachery. Meanwhile Rajnikant has asked his fan clubs to vote according to their conscience since they were asking him to issue a diktat against PMK that scuttled the release of BABA. Since PMK is now in DMK camp, Rajnikant has taken a neutral stance.

Amitabh Bachchan is said to have influenced Jaya Prada to ditch TDP and join Samajvad Party (SP). Amitabh close to Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav had convinced Jaya to join the party. Though Big B has stated that he would not canvass for SP his behind the scenes contact with SP is well known.
Recently Amar Singh picked up a quarrel with Shah Rukh at the Zee awards in Dubai for giving Big B the 16th row seat. Amar and Big B flew in Ambanis jet to Dubai. Om Puri is the latest to have joined Congress. Jaya's joining SP will now pave the way for new star entrants to join TDP. Will this give Vijayshanthi a berth in TDP?

GV's wife harassed!
|
Wife of GV the producer who hung himself to death due to mounting debts was asked by the association of Outdoor units to pay up Rs 3 crores that Manirathinam owed. Manirathinam, brother of GV floated his own company Madras Talkies and is currently involved in producing and directing a Tamil- Hindi film. The Chennai based outdoor unit raised a bill close to Rs 3 crores which Mani is said to owe the company. The matter went to the outdoor unit association and its office bearer sent notice to all concerned including GV's wife. Already faced with court battles and acquisitions by banks the battered lady in tears spoke to her brother Ananda Suresh. Suresh informed his friends in the industry. The outdoor unit was threatened of total boycott if they went ahead and harassed GV's wife. Sensing trouble the notice was hastily withdrawn.

Gayathri to act with Dhanush?

Gayathri Raghuram is on cloud nine these days. Buzz says that she has been cast opposite Dhanush. Selvaraghavan will direct this untitled film. Mani inspired by God's Town?

A Portuguese film Cidade De Deus whose English title is God's Town was released in 2002. The film is about Cidade De Deus (City of God), housing project built in the 1960's which during the early 80's--became one of the most dangerous places in Rio de Janeiro. Two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer. This slick movie told the story of the gangs in the City of God Kids, who have murdered before they are 12 years old and when they are about 18 they rule the ghetto. Could Mani be inspired by this film?
