Sathyam, a pioneer in cinema halls, launched RDX (Real digital experience) about three years ago and showed cinemagoers what real digital experience is all about: crystal-clear image, no scratches, jumps or flickers. It bought this digital movie projection system from Texas Instruments.
Now Sathyam is bringing in another revolution: Korean Master Image’s Display Technology to screen 3D films in its RDX. It is all set to show cinegoers the effect of its RDX system coupled with Korean Master Image’s Display Technology when it plays the 3D film Journey to the Center of the Earth which stars Brendan Fraser. Viewers will not watch the film, they will be a part of it; they will “live” the film.
Today, this new technology was inaugurated at Sathyam Cinemas and a special screening of Journey to the Center of the Earth was held at 9.30 a.m. Earlier, Sathyam Cinemas COO. Tan Ngaronga, director of Real Image. Senthil Kumar, and CEO of Insight Media Nag Ravi addressed a conference.

The digital movie projection system at Sathyam is the only system that is compliant with standards prescribed by Digital Cinema Initiative, a consortium of major Hollywood film studios like Disney, Paramount, Universal, Warner Bros, MGM, Sony and 20th Century Fox. Now it has the power of Master Image MI-2100, a unique stereoscopic 3D digital system too.
With dozens of 3D titles from Hollywood and local companies expected over the next few months, Sathyam could not have opted for a better time to incorporate this technology.
So, now you know where to watch your 3D film! Oops! Sorry. It should be – where to ‘live’ your 3D film.
