Bollywood actor Aamir Khan arrived in Chennai today on the eve of the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Award presentation. The actor will be given the award tomorrow, for his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par, a film about a dyslexic boy and his compassionate teacher.
Aamir met the members of the press tonight at the Film Chambers. Dressed in black and sporting his Ghajini hair do, the actor patiently posed for pictures, smiling throughout. The press conference that lasted for about 40 minutes had the actor answering all sorts of questions, ranging from his directorial debut to his views on India winning the Olympic gold. The actor patiently answered all the questions and never runshing through any of the queries. He later joined a group of differently abled children and their families who were attending a special screening of Taare Zameen Par.
Also present at the press conference were some special educators who commended and thanked Aamir for making the film. They were happy that the film had brought awareness about a subject like dyslexia. They also urged him to make more films on such sensitive subjects.
