Selvaraghavan and his unit are in the forest of Athirapally-Vazhachal near Chalakudy in Kerala.
The director is busy shooting for his film Aayirathil Oruvan at the majestic twin falls of Athirapally and Vazhachal. A popular location for many Tamil and Hindi films, the falls are close to the Chalakudy river, which Sevaraghavan felt is the perfect location for his film.
The main characters of the film, namely Karthi, Reema and Andrea, drove to the location from Kochi airport. Initially, Selva had planned to shoot the film in Jodhpur-Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, but could not get the required permissions.
The Amazonian forest feel of Athirapally-Vazhachal was the deciding factor for the selection of the location. Cameraman Ramji is very pleased with this as his job is made easier.
