Srinivasan and Ramzan Lakhani, whose production house Project East West A has teamed up with Arun Vaidyanathan for Achamundu Achamundu, a thriller and of course a different one. Srinivasan who has worked with Kamal Haasan in 1998, is making this movie in an effort to create a market for tamil films all over the world. He hopes that this endeavour will open avenues for tamil cinema at the global level.
The official launch took place at Vadapalani. Except the lead pair Prasanna and Sneha, all the technicians are from Hollywood, the ultimate destination for any movie enthusiast. Visual Effects is by Madhusudanan who has worked in films like Lord Of The Rings, Spiderman-3 and Aalavandan. Cinematography for the movie is by Ray Collins.
Director Arun Vaidyanathan, though a native of Sirkazhi moved to the U.S. and has been residing there for 8 years. He has finished an acting and directing course in U.S. and is all set to prove his love and attachment to Tamil cinema.
Clarifying the aura of doubt that hovers around every other different production that is attempted in moviedom, the director Arun Vaidyanathan said that the movie would be an intriguing experience for every movie-lover. The difference here would only refer to the handling of the theme and the presentation.
Veteran director Balu Mahendra one of the celebrities who spoke at the function said that there are two types of successes. One is a commercial success; the kind that helps us to upgrade ourselves in terms of monetary aspects. The other is the success a creator gains through establishing his thoughts through the chosen medium. This success has greater value and gives us a place in history.
Also talking about Prasanna the film's hero, Balu Mahendra remarked that even when the young guy approached him for an opportunity, he could identify the spark in his eyes. He also recalled that he had assured Prasanna that he would be successful in the industry.
Prasanna made a remark that Achamundu... will popularize Tamil movies and the the people living abraod will appreciate the talent in Tamil artistes.
The team plans to release the movie worldwide.
