Writer Jayamohan seems to have stirred a hornet’s nest in Kollywood. The writer has come under heavy fire for portraying the legends of Tamil cinema, MGR and Sivaji, in a bad light on his blogs. They are also unhappy with a popular Tamil weekly for publishing those blogs in its pages.
The Nadigar Sangam held a meeting to condemn the writer and demand an apology from both the writer and the magazine. Some of Kollywood’s biggest stars, including Sarathkumar, Sathyaraj, Manorama, Sivakumar, Radha Ravi, Vijayakumar and Rajesh came together on stage to condemn the writer.
During the meeting, the Nadigar Sangam passed resolutions in protest against the writer. While condemning the writer, the Sangam wanted an unconditional apology from the writer for writing the blogs and the magazine for reproducing them.
The resolution also called for the removal of the writer from his current film projects, Naan Kadavul and Angaadi Theru, if he fails to tender an apology. One resolution called for the Tamil magazine to come out with an apology in its next issue, failing which it would get no cooperation from any of the organizations in its first film project.
