Following the successful superstar remake Billa, Aegan is the next from 'Ultimate Star' Ajith. Obviously, the film is loaded with star and fan expectations and hopes. To offer a veritable treat to his ardent fans, Ajith has worked hard on this action extravaganza for almost a year now. Aegan has many attractive features; its fascinating heroine Nayantara is one among them. Choreographer Raju Sundaram is the debut director of Aegan. Yuvanshankar Raja, the music director, has indeed done a commendable job. While creating the compositions, it is clear that he has kept in mind the reach and impact the songs would make on Thala fans as well as others. All the five songs are categorically modern; yet in each and every song there is a Yuvan element that stands out and pulls the listener closer. 'Hey Baby' is a hip hop in Shankar Mahadevan's voice. The subtle instrumental riffs are ably matched by Shankar Mahadevan's modulations; his vocal dynamics on the low-scale notes are presented effectively. A typical ballroom number, the song also has an oldies' touch and feel.
'Hey Salaa' is a peppy chorus by BlaaZe, Mohammed Aslam and Naresh Iyer. The singers' stylish rendering, their heavily-accented intonations and the intense orchestration creates an exotic impression.
