Ajith is every bit a star. Even when you listen to him offscreen, you realize that he is indeed the ultimate star! He talks about himself, his movies and his most-hyped yet, Billa 2007, with such ease and confidence. Sure about what he’s talking, his confident, correct and precise answers to various questions from the press prove it.
At a press meet held yesterday at the Green Park Hotel, Chennai, actor Ajith Kumar met the press. All too excited to get an audience with this elusive star, members of the various media attended the meet, with several questions in hand. Open and straightforward as always, the star was forthcoming and honest with his response to their every query.
While talking about Billa 2007, he said that it was only with the consent and blessings of Superstar Rajinikanth, that they started work on the remake of his blockbuster Billa. He also added that the idea of remaking an old hit had occurred to him nearly three years ago but nobody was willing to do a remake then. But the scenario is different today–old songs are being rehashed and remixed, and even old movies are being remade–for instance, Don and Naan Avanillai. Aware that people will compare his Billa with the Superstar’s, he affirms that the story may remain the same, put it has been made very differently–to suit the expectations and audience of today.
Ajith stated that he is not trying to make a point that he is the next Superstar by remaking this movie. What mattered to him was a good script. He said that amongst today's actors, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are his role models.
What every one was eager to ask was the Ajith vs. Vijay battles. All thalai had to say was that he did not see an enemy/ opponent in Vijay. Between the two of them there is only healthy competition on the professional front. When asked if he would act with Vijay, with his trademark charming smile, Ajith replied that if offered a script as powerful as that of Sholay, he would surely act with Vijay.
The father-to-be is all too happy about the new addition into his life. His only prayer is for the mother and child to be healthy. After eight years of married life, the couple await their first child by the end of this year. Here’s wishing them both and their child good health. And we also wish Ajith success in his every upcoming venture!
