Ajmal Ameer, a doctor by profession, has become one of the most promising young actors in Malayalam and Tamil with his three films Pranayakalam, Anjathe and Madambi. Perhaps, it is unbelievable to many that a qualified doctor turned out to be an actor!
"Films were part of my dreams right from my childhood. But quite naturally, my parents were not convinced about my passion to become an actor. When I was offered Pranayakalam, my parents did not think that I was serious about acting. But now they have started taking my acting career more seriously," the young actor said during an interview to a leading website.
Among his new projects, his latest Malayalam film Madambi is very special to Ajmal as it gives him a chance to share screen space with superstar Mohanlal. Talking about Madambi and its lead star Mohanlal, he said that Lal was really sweet and friendly to him.
"Honestly, I was indeed afraid to act with him but he made me feel comfortable. My character in Madambi is that of a dreamy boy who becomes more responsible after certain incidents happen in his life. Many twists in the film happen to my character."
Presently, Ajmal Ameer has a few important projects in Tamil and Malayalam. One is TN-07 AL4777, a remake of Hindi film Taxi No. 9211. Ajmal will play John Abraham's role in the film, while Pasupathi is doing Nana Patekar's role. Another movie in Tamil is being produced by Pyramid Saimira. There are some offers in Malayalam as well.
Ajmal Ameer has qualified in medicine from Russia and has plans to open a hospital in the near future. Now he is enjoying his stint as an actor and wants to be known as a good one in acting. All the best, Ameer!
