Paruthiveeran was honoured with a "special mention" from the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) at the recently concluded Berlin festival. Director Ameer was at the festival for the last two days. He was surprised when he saw the crowds thronging to get a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan. He was also happy that Indian movies are so popular and all the shows running to packed audiences.
When a movie is honoured, it is traditional that the director receives the award. But once on stage, Ameer insisted that Karthi too be present with him. The two accepted the award together. So have all differences been sorted out?
Well, not quite. The duo returned to Chennai in the same flight, but hardly any words were exchanged. But it was heartening to see that at the festival, they rose above their differences.
Galatta.com hopes that Ameer and Karthi come together again for more films like Paruthiveeran.
