Director Ameer’s Paruthi Veeran has done phenomenally well, not just in India but abroad as well. Its recent screening at the Berlin Film Festival bears testimonial to the same. The simplistic and realistic portrayal of life on camera as perceived by Ameer is something that everyone has been raving about. One more person impressed with this is Vijay T. Rajendran.
Known for his extravagant sets, rhyming dialogues and long-drawn melodrama, TR, as he is popularly called, is not exactly your naturalistic director. Exaggerated emotions are the key for him. Now however, his view has changed. His next movie Oru Thalai Kadhal, which has him in the lead, will not carry the usual TR trademark characteristics. Instead it will be a toned-down realistic film, he promises. And this is the outcome of his having watched Ameer’s Paruthi Veeran.
If this movie is anything like TR’s Oru Thalai Ragam, then we can expect to be well entertained.
