The latest buzz we hear everywhere in Kollywood is that Kamal Haasan has invited Amitabh Bachchan to act in Marmayogi. Kamal is leaving no stone unturned to make Marmayogi yet another milestone of Indian inema. The actor’s creative energy and interests have grown tremendously. It appears he has decided that every new project of his should be bigger and better its predecessor. In fact, he is the only one who can better his own masterpieces.
This is not the first time Amitabh has been invited to work in a Tamil film. This has happened several times earlier, but it did not work out, either due to the superstar’s busy schedules or incongruence between the role offered and the star’s image. Maybe the time has not yet come for fans to see Big B in a Tamil film mouthing Tamil dialogues.
But the news that Kamal Haasan has invited Big B to take part in Marmayogi gives a viewers a glimmer of hope to see Big B mouthing Tamil dialogues in a Tamil film. Fans of Amitabh in Tamil Nadu who wish to hear him speak Tamil in his baritone voice, should watch Laawaris, in which he speaks a short sentence in Tamil. (Trivia 1: Laawaris was remade in Tamil as Panakkaran with superstar playing the lead. Trivia 2: Tamil actress Khusbu appeared as a child artist in Laawaris)
It is to be noted that Amitabh, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan have acted together in a hit Bollywood film, Giraftaar, released in 1985, which was a bonanza to their fans. All three stalwarts of Indian cinema in one film! What else anyone could ask for?!
