Kamal Haasan was the cynosure of all when he released the audio of Kodaikanal on June 16, 2008.
Everyone appreciated him for his work in Dasavathaaram and reiterated that this will surely fetch him the Oscar, which has eluded this deserving actor for long.
When Kamal Haasan rose to spoke, there was huge applause and the veteran thanked every one for recognizing his work. Then he said that the Oscar is a prestigious award of the West; he is envisaging the day when an Indian award that excels the Oscar in magnitude and respect comes up and people from all over the world would strive for it. He also said that the journey towards such an achievement has begun and he will surely witness its culmination before he leaves this world, referring to Indian films that are gaining recognition throughout the world and inspiring international awe.
