With his work in Naan Kadavul completed, Arya has begun to concentrate on other films. He is on the verge of completing his work in Sarvam, a Vishnuvardhan film which he had accepted even before signing Naan Kadavul. It is heard that following this, he will act in director Vijay’s Madras Pattinam. Vijay directed the Ajith starrer Kireedom and also the latest hit Poi Solla Porom. Madras Pattinam is the first film that Arya is signing after two years of dedication to Bala’s Naan Kadavul. Arya almost spent his life like a sadhu after playing one in Naan Kadavul – he had grown long locks of hair, an enormous beard, and reduced weight to look like a sadhu. The entire film industry was awed by his dedication.
It is heard that Madras Pattinam is a pleasant love story set in the times when British ruled India. That means there will be plenty of work for the art director, who will have to recreate the aura of the British era. There are rumours in Kollywood stating that Arya will pair up with a western actress, maybe someone from Hollywood or Britain, for this film as it is said to be a love story of a "Madrasi" and a British girl. G.V. Prakash will compose the film’s music and Nirav Shah will handle the camera.
