It is just possible that some discipinary action might be taken on Asin, a result of which could be a ban on her acting/ involvement in Kollywood. That is what has been hinted by the Tamil Film Artists' Association.
But why this action? It is said that this comes in the wake of Asin’s absence from the protest organized by the association. The protest was organized to condemn the attack on Tamil establishments in Karnataka in the Hokenakkal issue. The association had announced that it would take disciplinary action against any one who belonged to/ related to Kollywood and did not take part in it.
Actors Karthik, Arya, Asin, Simran, Navya Nair, Gopika, Padmapriya, Nila, directors K. Balachander, Bharathiraja, Maniratnam, Shankar and others did not take part in this protest.
The board declared that it would take action against them if they failed to give proper reason for their absence. Everyone except Asin had submitted the reasons for their absence.
Now the association is waiting for Sarathkumar, head of the association, who is away on shooting for a film, to return. Once he returns, it will be decided if action against Asin is to be taken.
