When a filmi father, has a grown up son, it’s quite natural that he wants the young boy to follow in his foot steps. We’ve seen it happen time and again – dads going that extra mile to promote their son. And they will keep doing it, till the fledgling can fly on its own. Vijay and Simbu are amongst the sons that grew popular, possibly more popular than their encouraging fathers.
Latest to join the rank of supportive daddies are Bhagyaraj and S Ve Sekar. Bhagyaraj’s son Shanthnoo’s debut movie Sakkarakatti, is yet to hit the screens, but his dad has already decided to direct him in his next movie. This will be the remake of Pudhiya Varpugal, which was quite a hit in its day, and was also Bhagyaraj's onscreen debut. S Ve Sekar on the other hand, has decided to make a sequel to Manal Kayiru, a Visu flick that had him[S Ve Sekar] in the lead and was a resounding success.
Many more young actors with fathers to back them have made their debut this year. Some have made their mark, while others are yet to find their footing. Here’s wishing these aspiring heroes lots of luck as a new year dawns.
