Bommalattam, the much talked-about movie by Bharathiraja, has brought Nana Patekar and actor-turned-director Manivannan together.
During the shooting breaks, NanaPatekar found Manivannan retiring to his own space reading voluminous books on Socialism. Nana Patekar, surprised to find a striking similarity in their choice of books, started a conversation with him.
"I have found the audience of Tamil cinema madly idolising actors. You are certainly different," remarked Patekar.
He was also absolutely astonished on learning that Manivannan had directed a bunch of good Tamil movies, before turning to acting.
The frequent exchanges has grown into a good-natured friendship between the two.
