The release of the book, ‘The Name Is Rajnikanth’ written by Gayathri Sreekanth was a gala affair with the city’s celebs turning out in huge numbers. The book was released by yesteryear actor and editor of Thuglaq, ‘Cho’ Ramaswami and was received by Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth.
Speaking during the function, Cho was all praise for the superstar. “Rajnikanth is a staunch follower of God. He has no desire for money or power. He talks politics but is not a politician. He also talks of faith but is not a sanyasi,” he said. “Many say that I’m an advisor to Rajnikanth. But, it’s not so. As it is said in the Mahabaratha, Rajnikanth gets the opinion of others before making a decision,” he added.
Cho was of the opinion that Rajnikanth has all the qualities of an able administrator and that if he enters politics, it will be a boon for Tamil Nadu as he is not corruptible and so will his government be.
“Despite achieving Himalayan success, Rajni doesn’t have an iota of ego. That he attributed the success of Sivaji to its director Shankar and producer A.V.M. Saravanan is proof of this fact,” he said.
Soundarya Rajnikanth, who received the book, thanked the gathering on behalf of her father and herself for their goodwill. The book’s author Gayathri Sreekanth too thanked the gathering.
Producer A.V.M. Saravanan and former CBI director Karthikeyan also spoke during the function. Actors Sivakumar, Karthi, Vijayakumar, directors K. Balachander, S.P. Muthuraman, producers Manickam Narayanan, Ramkumar and chairman of GNG group of companies, C.N. Ramdas attended the function.
