Chandramukhi, the hit film of 2005, which had a record run and is still running, has bagged five State awards.
The movie has got the award for the Best film, Best actor (Rajinikanth), Best actress (Jyothika), Best Choreographer (Dance Master Kala) and Best Art director (Thotta Tharani).
Chandramukhi, is a remake of the Malayalam film Manichithira Thaazh starring Mohanlal, Shobana and Suresh Gopi. The movie has been remade in Hindi as Bhool Bhulaiyaa directed by Priyadarshan.
Chandramukhi is directed by P. Vasu and produced by Sivaji Productions.
