For Kokki, Prabhu Solomon had Karan run through some busy roads, while he and his cinematographer got it all on film. This time it was Charmi’s turn to get a feel of candid shooting, which happens to be Prabhu’s favorite style.
Laadam, which has Charmi starring opposite debutant Arvind, has the actress donning the role of a ‘ruff-n-tuff’ rowdy girl. Not quite the Charmi we remember from Kadhal Azhivadhillai, right? But that was long ago. Now she is a hot favourite in Telugu filmdom.
Now, this rowdy role required Charmi to ride a bike through the traffic-congested Inner Ring Road, Chennai. Seated on a bike, dressed like a regular biker and a helmet on her head, she was winding her way through the traffic, with the movie crew getting all this on film from a jeep behind her.
Shooting was progressing fine, until she grazed a real-life biker! The young man jumped off his bike, rolled up his sleeves and began snarling at the hapless actress. If you thought Charmi was trembling in fear and begging for mercy, you're wrong. She hopped off her bike and was all set to clobber this young man. She very nearly did so, but was stopped by the film crew.
Prabhu must be quite impressed with his heroine’s valour and must be glad he chose her for the role!
