Recently, Chaya Singh revealed her desire to become a director after acting in Vallamai Thaaraayo, written and directed by Madhumitha. It had an offbeat storyline and a neat screenplay and incredible storytelling; a sensitive issue was presented so beautifully that even the Censor Board made no cuts, showered accolades on the film and granted a clean U certificate. Apparently,Madhumitha success has encouraged Chaya so much that she cannot wait any longer to become a director.
Yes! Now Chaya Singh has also started working to achieve her desire to become a director. She is planning a project with her friend Shreyas Sudhindra and may start working on it by this year end. Chaya Singh said that she is tired of doing dull roles, which do not involve anything more than running around trees with the hero in duets, or just looking good and coy, or shedding tears. She said she would like to experiment with many different things in cinema. She said she loved the role that Aishwarya Rai did in Provoked and would love to play a role like that.
Chaya said that she has picked up many valuable lessons in the years she has spent in the film world. It is said that on the shooting spots, she is seen inquiring from the cameraman about the cinematography and lighting. This accomplished photographer revealed that she has begun to see everything on location from a director’s perspective and considers direction as a very good channel for the creative energy pent up in her for long.
So, now we will get to see the Manmadarasa girl wielding a megaphone and directing everyone on the film sets.
