Well, that's Padmapriya’s style of dealing with a depressed mood. She swears that good music lifts her spirits whenever she is down in the dumps. When her body moves in tune to the music being played, she says she has an out-of-the-body experience during which all her tension evaporates. Whenever she is depressed, she locks herself in her room, turns on the music she currently prefers and dances to it until endorphins kick in, and when she comes out, she is refreshed and a happy person. But she is not the quintessential “discotheque girl”.
Padmapriya loves dancing very much; she started learning Bharathnatyam wheb she was five and mastered Western styles as a teenager. As a child, she would go to sleep listening to Carnatic music, which she does even today.
If you thought that she has an erudite look, you are right: She is highly intelligent; she earned an MBA from Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies worked as a risk consultant for GE. Her knowledge grew wide and eclectic as she travelled a lot as a child; her father, who worked in the Defence Services, saw may postings in India.
Padma loves being in the company of her parents and yearns for them when she is filming. “When not filming,” says Padmapriya, “I make sure I spend all my time with my parents and I love every moment of it.”
