A lot of stars from the cine world descended on the Nehru Indoor Stadium yesterday evening during the Dasavathaaram (also refered to as Dasavatharam, Dasavataram) audio release. It was really a celestial evening.
Kamal Haasan came with his daughters, Shruthi Haasan and Akshara Haasan. Gouthami also came to the function with her daughter.
The function began at 6.10 p.m. with Shobana summoning the guests who were garlanded. The entire indoor stadium was crammed with people, full of stars from Kollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood, and Mollywood. There were a lot of foreign dignitaries present. And on the stage, sitting between the CM and Amitabh Bachchan, was the Hong Kong star, Jackie Chan.
Eminent scholar Vairamuthu too was present at the function and as usual, added his erudition to the function. He was all praise for Kamal Haasan. Hema Malini, Vijay, Mammootty, Jayapradha, Asin, director K.S. Ravikumar, producer Oscar Ravichandran and others, who were all present at the venue.
Mallika Sherawat was seen accompanying Jackie Chan when he entered. She was dressed in a black dress and looked sizzling. She even helped him pronounce Indian names properly when he was giving his speech. Sridhar, MD of Sony Music, Southern Region, too was present.
After Shobana welcomed the guests to the stage, K.S. Ravikumar gave a welcome speech. He looked pretty much excited. His speech was followed by memento presentation to the guests. Next, the CM gave away mementos to the crew members, followed by the much awaited moment. The trailer of Dasavathaaram was screened. The trailer not only presents to the world a peek into the movie, but also shares the experiences and views of the crew members.
Following this, CM Karunanidhi released the first copy of the audio and the Universal Super Star Jackie Chan received it.
Actor Vijay said he could not wait until the release of the movie and wished he could see it right away. Mammootty explained how hard it is to do even one role and thus how challenging it is to enact 10 roles in a film. Asin thanked Oscar Ravichandran, Kamal and K.S.R for the opportunity provided to her.
In his acceptance speech, Kamal thanked all the guests and revealed that is Mr. Karunanidhi’s work that gives him the inspiration to write dialogues and scripts. Then Kamal revealed that he suffered 26 fractures from doing stunts for this movie in Jackie Chan's style. He also announced plans to work with this great star.
The audio, scored by Himesh Reshammiya, will be available in music stores from today.
