The event took a nostalgic turn when everyone remembered late director-cinematographer Jeeva. The members shared their experience of working with him. Everyone stated how hard Jeeva had worked truly to make this film. It was arduous filming in Russian weather. Another point every member of this film talked about was the language barrier they had with Russians, which led to a lot of problems. Though they recounted it in a humorous manner, it would have been frustrating when they were actually experiencing these problems.
Speaking on the occasion, Na. Muthukumar thanked everyone for the opportunity given to him. Jayam Ravi said that Jeeva’s sudden demise was very depressing; it was a big loss to their unit and the industry. Recounting his stunts in the film, he said they very difficult but he made it a point to complete them without using any body double. “For example,” he said, “I had to do a 100-feet jump. The jump covered 50 metres horizontally and 100 feet vertically. Though I did it with the help of cables, it was very difficult.” (Later, Jayam Ravi gave an interview to Galatta.com, during which he broke into tears when he talked about Jeeva.)
Following him, Malayalam-Tamil actor Jayaram spoke about his experiences. He said, “I was very happy and excited to hear the script from Jeeva Sir. Back in Kerala, we only have 5 or 6 heroes including me and we keep doing the same hackneyed roles. But here, I got a chance to do a role that was so different. In the film, I help out Ravi while he is in Russia, a land about which he knows nothing. And suddenly, there is a change in my role towards the end of the film. It is very interesting. I cannot reveal too much information about it.”
Director G.K. Manikandan spoke how hard it was to step into Jeeva's role as a director. He said he cannot step into his shoes, and the fact that Jeeva had done more than half of the film was very helpful to him. He also said that the film has been made following Jeeva’s style and ideas.
Though the director played it down and stayed humble, everyone agreed how effective he has been in terms of film direction as well as man management.
