Moondram Pournami marks cinematographer Ravindar's debut as director. A thriller, Ravindar has captured the film's essence and effect through an intelligent combination of CG and appealing cinematography. The film has Dr. Raam, Murali Raj, Divya Nair, and Preethi in the lead. Music is by Deva. ‘Maari Maari’ is a devotional chorus by Malathi. 'Yaroo 1' and 'Yaroo 2' are situation-based semi-classical numbers sung by Janani with Senthildas and Thulasidas.’Koo Koo’ is a typical ‘Gaana Paattu’ sung by Deva, Malathi and Sabesh Murali.’Mari Mari’ begins with the popular track 'Sillendru pootha’ and is another mass song in the album. Pavithra Shree, Dr. Raam and Jayalakshmi sing the pleasing number ‘Paravaigal’, the last song in the six-track album.
