Madhavan’s first production venture, Evano Oruvan, has won kudos from critics and the audiences alike. Recently, a debate was held on the subject of the film. Actor Satyaraj, who is currently in the midst of critical acclaim for his performance in Onbathu Roobai Nottu, was the judge. The debate was organised by Pyramid Saimira and Sun TV.
Evano Oruvan, directed by Nishikanth Kamath, deals with the trials faced by the common man in a lawless society and stars Madhavan, Sangeetha and Seeman in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the Marathi super hit Dombivilli Fast which has won awards in many international festivals. Nishikanth Kamath had directed the original too.
The topic of the debate was “Who is responsible for creating avenging angels in society – An individual’s anger or the society?” Satyaraj, while giving his final verdict, said that it was commendable to see a film sparking off a debate. He said that the ultimate winners were the entire cast and crew of Evano Oruvan, who had made such a wonderful film.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhavan said that he was initially apprehensive on whether the film would recover its costs. However, after the debate, he was immensely satisfied and proud for having produced a good film for the people.
Director Seeman said that this was the first time that a public debate was being held on a film. He opined that society can function properly only if an individual acts properly.
