Ghatothkach, the animation movie, is not just for kids. It equally touches the hearts of adults too. It is a beautiful animation movie ever made in India. No wonder it made it to Cannes Film Festival 2008. And it would be the FIRST INDIAN ANIMATION MOVIE TO MAKE IT TO CANNES.
The movie is about young Ghatothkach, fondly known as “Ghattu”, the prince of the forest he lives in. With a great destiny to fulfil, he is a kid blessed with extraordinary powers, which he uses to help those in need. At the same time, being a kid, he uses these magical powers to have some fun too. One day he saves an elephant, who becomes his friend for life. Thereafter the film is full of magic, camaraderie, adventure, and a fight against evil forces that attempt to kill Ghattu and stop him from fulfilling his destiny.
The movie, available in both 2D and 3D format, is all set to be one of the biggest entertainers this summer. One reason that will make you watch this movie and relish it is – Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. He is the man who worked magic on the screen with movies like: Pushpak (the silent movie starring Kamal Haasan), Appu Raja (in which Kamal Haasan featured as a dwarf), Little John (which featured Jyotika and Benteley, an English actor, and was full of graphics), and Mayuri (an inspirational film featuring Sudha Chandran).
The film's beautiful music, composed by Pravin Mani (associate of A.R. Rahman), enhances its quality. The film will be released on May 23, 2008, in English, Hindi, Tami, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
So, sit back and watch this cute little boy and his companion working magic on screen!
