It is time for the biggest and richest half marathon, this side of the Vindhyas - The GiveLife Chennai Marathon. Organised by Tamil Mayyam, the team behind the very successful cultural fest Chennai Sangamam, the marathon will be held on August 31st, 2008.
The launch for this run begins on June 4th 2008 at Taj Connemera with a press conference where several prominent citizens from all walks of life will attend. The guest list includes Kanimozhi, MP; National long distance runners Kashinath Aswale, Santhosh Kumar and Preeti L. Rao; National football player Syed Sabir Pasha; National volleyball player Natarajan; National Hockey player Mohammed Riyaz; Former Indian Cricket Team Skipper Krishnamachari Srikanth; National Basketball player Sunitha, International Carrom Champion Ilavazhagi, Squash champion Joshna Chinnappa, Formula One racer Arman Ibrahim, Dr. M.R. Girinath, prominent heart surgeon; Singer Bombay Jayashree, Actors Gowthami and Arya.
