The audience was in a frenzy on catching a live glimpse of their favourite and lively star. And then they carried this excitement and energy into cheering the Super Kings team. It could be said that actor Vijay too helped Chennai Super Kings in a way to win this match - by creating an electrifying mood in the stadium.

Chennai Super Kings was asked to bat first by Mumbai Indians who won the toss. The team’s vice captain Harbhajan Singh took over captaincy as their captain Sachin Tendulkar was not fit. The Chennai team scored a whopping 208 runs. Hayden spearheaded the scoring frenzy by making 81 runs and Raina supported him very well with a half century. Then came Dhoni, who blazed away 30 runs in a mere 16 deliveries. Some of the boundary shots of Chennai Super Kings were cheered by numbers from Tamil movies. It was an electrifying atmosphere.
The Mumbai Indians then came on to the field to play their innings. They lost their openers for low scores pretty quickly but Robin Uthappa stayed at the wicket and steadied the innings. In the end, Chennai Super Kings were in for a shock when Abhishek Nayar and acting captain Harbhajan Singh played a superb cameo. But with Dhoni’s astute captaincy, Chennai Super Kings unsettled them and scored a victory. Mumbai managed to make 202.
A very excited Vijay came down the ground to greet Dhoni and the other players. The furore in the stadium went up when the two giants shook hands. Dhoni must have been dazed by the energy Vijay could transfer to the audience.
