Rajinikanth has come under heavy attack from pro-Kannada outfits following his fiery speech on Friday against political outfits that were creating trouble over the Hogennakal issue. Some outfits have threatened to block screening of the iconic actor’s films in the state and have even demanded an unconditional public apology.
Now, Rajinikanth has come out with a clarification, strongly denying that he had hurt Kannadigas through his speech. In a recorded statement, the Superstar has said that some people were indulging in malicious propaganda against him. “I’m not an unwise person to pass remarks that offend the sentiments of the people of Karnataka.”
The actor also clarified that he had asked only that the trouble makers be kicked out, not all Kanndigas. “If they decide to block my films, I will not lose much. The people of Karnataka, who cherish my films, will be the ultimate losers. If respected members of Kannada film fraternity like Ambareesh, Parvathamma Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan and Girish Karnad tell me truthfully that I have insulted the people of Karnataka, I’ll tender a public apology,” said the Superstar.
