Thotta, directed by Selva, features Jeevan and Priya Mani in the lead. Thotta is the next album from Srikanth Deva after the rollicking Pazhani. A composer known for his peppy ‘kuthu’ songs has lent his voice for the theme song and is part of the chorus.
Considering himself the passionate listener who often recalls his favourite songs, Srikanth Deva touches upon this influence in these compositions too. ‘Saami Aaduda’ is one such song. Senthil Dass, Suchitra Raman, Asith render it with the desired enthuiasm and energy. ‘Mugam Poo’ is a romantic duet sung by Naresh Iyer, Chinmayee. Slow-paced and with a gentle rhythm, the song brings in a dreamy mood. ‘Va Va Va Mapillai' is another cheery song, a chorus. Sung by Srikanth Deva, Janani and Asith, it will be a sure hit among the masses. ‘Venum Venum’ belongs to an interesting genre and evokes a familiar feel in Jaidev and Sangeetha’s voices. The lustre and range of Tanvi’s tone is established through ‘Anbe Va’. Both Tanvi and Gopal Sharma render this energetic number set in a high pitch with charm and grace.
