Jackie Chan’s initial reaction to Dasavathaaram

When Jackie Chan was shown Dasavathaaram’s trailer for the first time, he kept enquiring about who played which role. It was shown to him by Oscar Ravichandran’s brother Suresh, who went to Hong Kong to invite Jackie Chan. Suresh kept mum until the trailer – which was exclusively shot for Jackie and other VIPs to see – was over. Then he revealed that it was Kamal Haasan playing all the 10 roles. Jackie Chan was surprised and looked at Suresh agape. Marvelling at Kamal’s dexterity, he was all praise for him. Then, after a while, he jokingly asked "Is Kollywood running out of artists?!!" Suresh burst out into laughter along with the ace stunt actor Jackie Chan. Then Suresh exxplained the reason behind this. Jackie Chan marvelled at the script and Kamal’s expertise, and said that even dual roles are very rare in Hong Kong and China. He also said that he would look forward to be in India and would like to be associated with this movie in some way or the other because it was his friend Oscar Ravichandran’s production.
