Well, that is what one would say seeing how they are remaking the yesteryear Vittalacharya film, Jaganmohini. The original version, in the days of limited technology, provided a beautiful tale full of magic, adventures, and thrills. The remake version has the advantage of technology; hence the original version is enhanced, made bigger and better.
Shooting of Jaganmohini is currently progressing in Madurai. Earlier, a song shot in Thirumalai Naicker Mahal was witnessed by Ilaiyaraja (perhaps the first time he witnessed the filming of a song for which he had composed music). The song had beautiful heroines Nila and Namitha and 50 attractive “rich girls” (jargon for those who appear in films as a hobby). It looked as though the mythical “Indralokam” had descended on earth!
The set at Madurai is a potpourri of persons and paraphernalia related to film shooting. It looks like a different world of a bygone era in the middle of modern Madurai. The sets are filled with beautiful heroines Nila and Namitha dressed like celestial beauties, director and other technicians, beautiful junior artists, people dressed as soldiers, and lots of elephants. The palace and temple sets constructed for the scene are majestic.

The film promises breathtaking scenes doctored by computer special effects. The best of the best of this film is the underwater scenes to be shot in Andaman featuring Namitha, who enacts the role of Jaganmohini, a pearl diver. This gives enough scope for “hot and wet” scenes. This underwater scene will be shot in the crystal clear shallow sea in Andaman, which has an appealing bluish-green hue. The corals in this area are breathtakingly beautiful. Imagine, Namitha diving in this beautiful sea, getting drenched...! The film will ride on the shapely shoulders of Namitha and Nila, who will provide the glamour quotient.
The makers are going the extra mile in acquiring high-end cameras and other equipment for shooting these underwater scenes, which will be the highlights and much-awaited scenes of the film. We can understand that it is really hard for you to wait until its release!
This film, for sure, is going to be a blockbuster!
