Sathyajyothi Films Jayam Kondan features Vinay, Bhavana and Lekha Washington in the lead roles. The movie, a complete and healthy entertainer, will satisfy all types of audiences. R. Kannan has written the story and screenplay.
Vidyasagar's compositions for Jayam Kondan are tantalizing melodies. All the songs are structured with a direction, a purpose to suit the romantic theme of the movie and the singers have sung the compositions with appropriate dedication and involvement. Except just one number, all songs are solos.
'Adaimazhai Kalam', the first song in the album, is a classic example for the kind of melody Vidyasagar has handled in Jayam Kondan. Karthik's voice and his intelligent voice manipulation throughout the song impart a special effect to it.
Sriram Parthasarathy's 'Adhaikoodava' shines through the skill displayed in his tone and the resonance of the song. The classical tune and Sriram's voice draw strength and support from each other throughout the soft number.
'Naan Varaindhu Vaitha' is a duet sung by Madhushree and Hariharan. The singers' rendering are proof of the time, thought and preparation that has gone into the composition.
'Ore oru naal' starts with a brisk round of rhythm, supplemented by Benny Dayal's sweet tone.
Sadhana Sargam's soothing voice is at its best in 'Sutrivarum Bhoomi'. The song, with its graceful embellishments and peaceful rendition, is sure to become a chart-topper.
'Ullasa Ulagam' has used the lyrics and tune from an old hit. But the resemblance stops there. Tippu's feisty voice comes as an added fillip and the modern tuneful additions bring about a pleasing effect.
Jayam Kondan is certainly the most melodious album to be released in recent times.
