Thanks to the efforts of Bharathiar University Coimbatore, now Dr. Karunanidhi’s works will be translated into Chinese.
The university in Coimbatore has entered into an agreement with China's Huaihua University to translate the entire gamut of the 85-year-old Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi's writings, Bharathiar University Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam said, while inaugurating the university's correspondence courses at the Yadava College near Madurai on Monday.
Thiruvasagam said the proposal had come from the Chinese institute. The English versions of Karunanidhi's works will be sent to the Huaihua University for translation into Chinese.
Kalaingar Karunanidhi's contributions to Tamil literature cover a wide area like poems, letters, screenplays, novels, biographies, historic novels, stage plays, dialogues, songs, etc., apart from an annotation of poet saint Tiruvalluvar's ‘Thirukkural’ to simplify it for the common people.
He has written more than 70 film scripts, including Rajakumari, Parasakthi, Manohara, Thayillapillai, Poompuhar, Needhikku Thandanai and latest, Uliyin Osai.
