Choreographer Pawanraj luckily escaped drowning recently while filming a song sequence in Nagercoil.
Pawanraj, choreographing for the film Kanna Nee Yenakku Thaanda, was standing on a rock giving instructions to newcomers Udhay and Payal when a huge tidal wave knocked him off the rock and plunging him into the sea.
The shocked film unit, feeling a mild tremor, fled the scene fearing a tsunami.
However, the director Oli Maran, with the help of a few local fishermen organized a search for the choreographer. The rescue party after 10 minutes of intensive searching finally found the badly-bruised choreographer.
Later, Pawanraj was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
