After the mega success of Anniyan, one of the most expensive psychological thrillers to come out of India, Vikram was admitted into the crème de la crème of the Tamil cinema world. Anniyan was dubbed into Telugu as Aparachitidu and in Hindi as Aparchit. Both versions were super hits in their respective languages.
Thereafter, Vikram earned the reputation of putting his all into his projects as Anniyan was two years in the making and was well worth the wait. And now, Mallana follows suit. Starring Vikram and doe-eyed Shriya, Kanthaswamy, which is being simultaneously produced in Telugu as Mallana, is a big-budget film being shot extensively in several locations in India apart from Mexico and Muscat.
Vikram again dons a stylish character; his role is akin to Robin Hood and a debonair Indian James Bond. Vikran also plays the role of a woman in the film. Susi Ganeshan is the director for both the Tamil and Telugu versions. Kanthaswamy (Tamil version) is being produced by Kalaipuli International.
Superstar Krishna, Ashish Vidyarthi and Vivek also have stellar roles in this mega budget entertainment orgy.
