It looks like it is the turn of Kollywood heroines to play the role of protagonists these days. Recently, there have been a bunch of movies with female protagonists like Chandrika featuring Meghna Naidu and Kattuveeriyan, featuring Malavika. They were both suspense thrillers. Now, director Rishiraj has made Vasool with Kiron as the central character. It is said that Kiron was reluctant to accept this offer, wondering if it is too big an experiment, but later when Rishiraj gave her the script and made her realize the trend, she relented.

Newcomer Hemanth Kumar has been cast opposite Kiron. But it is Kiron who plays a pivotal role in the movie, the plot of which revolves around her, Hemanth, and director Rishiraj, who also does a role in this film.
Vasool is produced by V.R.R. Rishiraj, who has written the story and also donned the role of director and screenplay writer. Vijayshankar has composed music. And with Kiran in the lead and having more screen presence, there will be no paucity of glamour. It looks like she is the one who is going to carry the film on her shoulders.
