Hayden and Dhoni became stumbling blocks in the prospective victory path of Kolkata Knight Riders. Chennai Super Kings pulled off a sensational victory on 26th April, 2008 at Chepauk. Actor Vijay was present at the stadium along with his son Sanjay, who was seen clinging on to his shoulders. Sanjay is a big fan of Dhoni. Both father and son had loads of fun and cheered each and every delivery. They danced and cheered and created a euphoric atmosphere. The “Victory Dance” that actor Vijay did with his son sitting on his shoulders after Chennai Super Kings clinched the match, was the highlight and cynosure of this match.
Initially, Kolkata was restricted to 147 runs by Chennai. It was a display of good bowling. Muttiah Muralitharan was the best of the Chennai bowlers. He bowled his full quota of 4 overs and gave only 12 runs, an astonishing feat in 20-20 cricket, where bowlers get pummelled by batsmen. Oram picked up three crucial wickets; this paved a path to victory. After this, Chennai came in to bat. In came Hayden, the giant, and his little partner, Parthiv Patel. They had a steady start against the formidable Ishant Sharma. Patel was out soon and Hayden was joined by the captain, Dhoni. Both these batsmen took the Chennai Super Kings to a thumping nine-wicket win. Hayden made an unbeaten 70 off 49 deliveries and Dhoni waas not out at 43.
Exuberant Juhi Chawla was seen cheering her side, which she jointly owns with Shah Rukh Khan. But in the end, Vijay and his son were the ones who had the last laugh along with their Chennai supporters.
Hayden and Dhoni proved to be the roadblocks to the victory streak of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Now Chennai Super Kings is at the top of the points table with three wins from three matches. And with Vijay cheering them all the way, they will definitely get “Vijay” - victory in all their forthcoming matches!
