The shooting for Rajinikanth’s quickie Kuselan will not start this week as originally planned. The reason? A reported difference of opinion between superstar and director P. Vasu over the screen time that the superstar will occupy in the film.
It seems Rajinikanth wants his role to be the same as in the original, a guest appearance. But Vasu feels that the superstar should have equal screen time as Pasupathi, the hero, for the film to sell. For this, he had proposed adding an extra song, a few comedy scenes with Vivek plus some more scenes.
However, it is now learnt that Rajinikanth had told Vasu that the director cannot lengthen his screen time as doing so would dilute the plot. He also expressed his wish to start work on Robot, his biggie with Shankar, by late April or early May since that project is expected to take a considerable amount of time.
The delay in resolving this issue has resulted in postponement of the shooting, which was scheduled to begin tomorrow. Now, it seems the unit might begin shooting only by the first week of March.
