When Somnath Chatterjee (Lok Sabha Speaker) was on a trip to Kuala Lumpur, he learnt that an Indian film crew was filming there, and decided to check out the film shoot. Saran and his film crew including Vinay were busy filming there for Modhi Vilayadu. After watching Saran working with his crew for a while, the septuagenarian was absolutely enthralled by his working style and ideas. He went to Saran and remarked that he should consider working in Bollywood and Bengali films.
Director Saran is extremely happy with this compliment because he knows that praise from such an eminent and erudite man is equivalent to an Oscar award.
Modhi Vilayadu, which is in its final stages, stars Vinay and Kajal Agarwal. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the music of this film. That is because the popular Colonial Cousins (Hariharan and Leslie Lewis) has scored its music. This is the first time they score the music of a Tamil film.
