Actor Madhavan inaugurated a new school building for the students of Gurukulam, a school for underprivileged children, mainly fisherfolk of Kovalam and East Coast Road. This school, started by Mr. Nandakumar, Deputy General Manager of Air India, provides good quality education free of cost. The new building is a contribution by Trust Children, Madras Mylapore Round Table 3 (MMRT3) for these exuberant and intelligent students.
Actor Madhavan lauded the effort of MMRT3 in providing a building which provides all the comfort of a good school. He also profusely appreciated the efforts of Mr. Nandakumar in providing good education to these children. He said the quality of education is very evident from the way the children converse fluently in good Tamil and English. He also said that sustaining a project is far more challenging and important than initiating it, and thus the efforts of Mr. Nandakumar and the other contributors are unparalleled.
Interacting with the children, the actor became nostalgic and reminisced about his school days. He recollected his days at Dakshina Bharatha Mahila Samaj School in Jamshedpur, where he studied and admitted that he was a “naughty child” in school. But he stated that his teachers loved him a lot and believed that he would definitely make a mark in life.
It is heart-warming to see the actor, despite being busy these days with Guru En Aalu’s filming, spend a good deal of time interacting and playing with the children. Later, he enjoyed the cultural programme presented by the children.
