Once you get into cinema and make a few wrong moves, you mature fast! Madhumita didn’t exactly make a wrong move, but she stood about waiting too long, and she was almost washed out!
The dusky starlet who made a good impression with her debut in Kudaikull Mazhai, refused most of the offers that came her way, waiting to net the big fish. Realizing that the wait may take forever, she decided to take the plunge. She now has two big projects – Yogi with Ameer and Arain Enn 305-il Kadavul with Prakash Raj. While the latter is a full length comedy riot, the former is serious cinema.
In Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul, Madhu plays a naïve young girl. Clad in the almost extinct ‘half saree’, she’s the shy girl but with a certain comic streak that she swears will make us laugh till our bellies ache!
Yogi on the other hand is the story of street dwellers, and she is one of them. The moment Ameer had told her the story and her role in it, she began her research. She spent hours observing the street dwellers in Hyderabad – how they lived, how they carried themselves – and she took photos of them which she sent to Ameer. He was absolutely impressed by her efforts. Madhu is absolutely thrilled about the movie and believes that she will reinstate her position as an actress with great skill and potential with Yogi.
