After producing the acclaimed Kamaraj, a biopic on Tamil Nadu’s most respected leader, Ramana Communications is now all set to bring Mahatma Gandhi to the screen.
While many films have been made on the Mahatma, including the Academy Award winning Gandhi, this film dares to be different. The film imagines how Gandhi would approach the problems of the country today and how the country would approach the Mahatma today. The film even goes to the extent of showing Gandhi winning the elections in a state and becoming a Chief Minister.
The film is directed by A. Balakrishnan, who had also written and directed Kamaraj. S. Kanakaraj, who portrayed the leader in the English version of Kamaraj, The King Maker, portrays the role of the Mahatma in this film. Prominent artistes from Kollywood and Hollywood appear as supporting actors in this film which goes to the floors in April.
