The Malayalam movie Eesra, which ran successfully for 100 days all over Kerala, is being dubbed in Tamil with the title Kombu. Karan, Vindhya, and Neetha appear in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Riyaz Khan, Thilakan, Rajan, P. Dev, Anju, and others.
The film earned popularity for its action sequences, especially a stunt scene involving Karan and Riyaz Khan. The scene was very risky and very demanding, yet the actors did it without using body doubles. The film’s producers M. Babu, Rajammal, and Ramesh Mithiran are confident that this film will become famous in Kollywood for the same reason it found fame in Kerala – its action.
The film’s story revolves around a Mumbai-based don, who escapes to a remote village in Tamil Nadu after a skirmish with another gang in Mumbai. He falls in love with a girl in this village. The film talks about the changes love brings in his life.
