Mammootty, superstar of Mollywood, is equally respected in Tamil Nadu and has acted in many films in Tamil. Mammootty believes that even if a part of his film is shot in Pollachi (near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, one of the most preferred shooting spots for Tamil films), it would become a super hit. He has a number of films to cite as an examples: Hitler, Vallyettan, Rajamanikkam, Oru Maravattoor Kanavu, Annan Thambi, and many more of his hit films were shot in Pollachi completely or partially.
Owing to this, many producers who wish to make a film with Mammootty now prefer Pollachi as the shooting location or they ensure that at least a portion is shot in Pollachi.
