It looks like the cast of the Tamil version of Taxi No. 9211 has been finalized. Earlier, it was stated that Sonali Kulkarni (who paired with Nana Patekar in the Hindi version) will also be featured in the Tamil version. But now it looks like she will not be there in the Tamil version.
Actress Meenakshi, of Karuppasamy Kutthagaitharar fame, has been selected to play the role that Sameera Reddy reprised in the Hindi version. This character has shades of grey. Meenakshi said that she has no qualms about this. She said that portraying negative emotions too is a part of acting; she quipped that portraying a character that is totally unlike one's natural self is a real challenge. Hence she considers this role as an opportunity to show her acting skills. She says that she will work on showing this negative character attractively. This beautiful actress also said that she only has three days of shooting left for Perumal, in which she is the heroine; Sundar C. is the hero. She said that she is into talks with some Bollywood producers and if it works out, she will soon be seen in a Bollywood film.
It was decided that Pasupathi will do the role of Nana Patekar; he will be paired with Simran. There has been no change in this.
Actor Ajmal, who acted in Anjaathe, will play the lead role (John Abraham played this role in the original version).
