Megha Raj, the new girl in town, is absolutely smitten with the Tamil film industry. She is the heroine of renowned ad filmmaker Lekha Rathnakumar’s Vettaikkaran. Daughter of famed Bhojpuri filmmaker Raj Israni, this beautiful 19-year-old Sindhi model seeking stardom in films chose the Tamil film industry for her debut. She says she admires the Tamil film industry and considered it her blessing when Lekha Rathnakumar (who has worked with her in many ad films) offered her the lead role in his first film.
Megha gives plenty of reasons why she admires Kollywood. She says this admiration grew manifold and turned into an obsession when she watched Rajinikanth’s Sivaji, a film that put everyone in the North in awe of the superstar. As an example, she cites the recognition and importance given to Rajni and his Sivaji during its release by certain leading news channels of the nation (operating from the North). She also said she is well aware of the high level of professionalism in Kollywood. So smitten was Megha with Kollywood that she even turned down her father’s Bollywood film offer.
“I dreamt of debuting in a Tamil film and this dream came alive. Now I hope to do well in this film and earn the Tamil fans’ goodwill,” says this owner of a beautiful smile.
